What is lifestyle inflation?

Lifestyle inflation (also called lifestyle creep) is when your spending increases as your income grows. You get a raise, so you upgrade your car. You get a bonus, so you move to a nicer apartment. Before you know it, your $6,500/month income leaves you just as broke as your $4,800/month income did.
